DESIGN

At NYSS, we prioritize both the aesthetics and functionality of components. Our design process extends beyond 2D sketches to include detailed 3D computer modeling of parts, concepts, and renderings. Whether you're conceptualizing a new part or reimagining an existing one, we transform your ideas into fully functional components. Our expertise spans various industries, including automotive, commercial manufacturing, and interior design.

While we’re rooted in performance automotive design and engineering, our capabilities extend to consumer products, commercial equipment, motorsports, and specialty fabrication projects. From initial brainstorming to finalized blueprints, we’re your hands-on partner in turning ideas into metal, plastic, and carbon fiber reality. Contact us to get your project started.

ANALYSIS

In our minds, the design of a product is only half of the job. One unique ability of our design services is not only the ability to create, but the knowledge to analyze and validate as well. What is the point of investing all that time and effort into something unless you have substantial data to prove it will function as you wish? Can you be sure that the designed component won't fail after a certain amount of uses unless you have completed a fatigue analysis? Can you be sure you have cut as much weight as possible without sacrificing strength?

Our engineering background will ensure your confidence in the design and will eliminate the potential for costly errors of oversight in the design. From tolerance stack ups, motion studies, and finite element analysis, to fatigue, heat transfer, and DFM analyses, The New York Speed Shop will ensure your part is engineered correctly within your budget and timeframe. PROTOTYPING

The New York Speed Shop brings its engineering and design services to tee by rounding off a product's development by offering rapid prototyping and one-off manufacturing. When it comes to product design, we know what to look out for when constructing a functioning physical prototype.
With the help of fused deposition modeling (FDM) or stereolithography (SLA) 3D printing technology, we will work with you to create a tangible test model of your part or component that can be physically test fitted exactly how the designed part would be utilized. Throughout the prototyping process, you will communicate directly with our designer to create your 3D printed project. Our team utilizes its skillsets, experience, and tools of the trade to assemble your project's vision. Set up a free design consultation or
contact us to go over your project.

3D SCANNING

Unlock precision and confidence in your automotive projects with our 3D Scanning & Metrology services. Whether you're looking to reverse engineer a classic car body, validate the fitment of a new engine, or recreate a discontinued vehicle part, our advanced scanning technology delivers exact digital replicas of physical components—down to the smallest detail.

Using high-resolution 3D scanners and metrology-grade tools, we capture complex geometries with sub-millimeter accuracy. This allows our clients to make informed design decisions, reduce costly trial-and-error, and integrate modern systems into older platforms without compromising integrity. This tech is perfect for:

  • Reverse engineering vehicle bodies, panels, or brackets

  • Verifying engine swap compatibility and motor fitment

  • Designing aftermarket performance parts

  • Reproducing hard-to-find or discontinued components

  • Creating CAD models for CNC machining or 3D printing
